NBN password changes

Is password change required , 

have seen some techs say no NBN is different , some say yes do it regular' 

what is the  answer , we have a F@st 5355 telstra modem  new to NBN  - will other modems have same password  cards as our , do we change for secure network , it it easy to hack . 

looking for the correct advice before doing anything
