[NBN] Speeds Falling Every Day from 2pm Onwards

Hey guys,

Recently switched over to NBN (Yay?) after being stuck on ADSL for my whole life. When we first switched over we had consistent speeds of 65 Down and 30 Up. After about 4 days of bliss that I had never experienced before, my dreams look to have been shattered.

If I speed test at 6am when I wake up, I get a flawless 65/30. When i get home from work around 12pm, I get 40/30. Can't complain about that. At 3pm, it drops to 25/30. And finally, by 5pm and onwards, it hits 8/30.

I have already contacted NBN Help for a seperate issue relating to our router - I did briefly ask about the dropping speeds and the representative informed me that my speed was still good enough not to file an escalation. Rightio.

We didn't get a box on the side of the house, and we are in a co-existing network, I think? I've done all the normal stuff - Reset the router, plug directly into the router, disconnect other devices, make sure nothing is updating/downloading, etc, etc.

My question is - Is this what I am doomed to experience every day? Barely better speeds than what I was getting with regular ADSL? Will I just be told that "It's congestion", even though it happens quite literally like clock-work?

As a side, we are paying for the "Speed boost" - If we decide to stop paying this because we're obviously not getting a 'boost' at all, will the speeds be even worse?

Sorry for the long post guys, I just really don't want to deal with talking directly to Telstra or NBN, though, I'm sure I will have to eventually if I want any sort of fix.

Speeds at 6pm with no internet activity except for the test: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/6079025606
