Hi,
My old setup at home was:
nbn FTTN -> Telstra Gateway Max -> Home phone
I've recently changed over to:
nbn FTTN -> Draytek Vigor 130 -> pfSense firewall -> Telstra Gateway Max -> Home phone
My issue is getting the Telstra Gateway Max to function in a stable manner as an ATA. If I restart the Telstra Gateway Max, the home phone will work fine for approximately 10 minutes. After that point it stops working - when that happens:
1. I still get dial tone on the home phone, any attempt to dial out gives a busy tone & modem diagnostics shows a failed call attempt
2. Attempts to call in auto divert me to Telstra messagebank
3. Telstra Gateway Max still shows the SIP connection as registered.
4. I'm seeing an debug message (abbreviated of) mmpbxd / RvSipTransactionSetLocalAddress – / Failed to sel local address to transmitter
From doing some searches and reading - I've had a go at setting up some port forwards (5060-5061 TCP/UDP, 5004 UDP & 3478 TCP/UDP) to the Telstra Gateway Max device but that doesn't seem to improve the situation. Not keen to go down the DMZ path and setup a blanket port forward.
I'm after help with either:
a. Getting the Telstra nbn SIP password for my account (so I can configure my own ATA)
b. Getting confirmation of what ports I need to forward / other changes I need to make
Reverting back to using the Telstra Gateway Max as my edge device is not an option. Will start cancelling all my Telstra services and going elsewhere if it comes to that.
