Less than a week ago I went to NBN (FTTN) from ADSL2 and since day 1 of NBN I am having frequent dropouts. Strangely it usually seems to happen when I am downloading a file, though sometimes just when browsing.
The first couple of times it happened was on the first day of connection when I was doing a download speed test. Tonight the first time it happened was when I bought some music in iTunes. I tried downloading the latest Ubuntu ISO yesterday and never got a full copy after three attempts. Tonight I went for Ubuntu again and after multiple attempts and re-starts I was finally able to get a full copy.
Any ideas? I'm using the supplied (new) Netgear V7610 router. The local node is basically on my fenceline and was only installed a few months ago. When I can run a speed test things seem ok, though well down on the 100Mbps I'm supposed to be on. I assume this is due to the lack of FTTP.
