I installed my new Sagemcom F@st 5355 gateway yesterday following the instructions on the "Quick Start Guide".
I now only have one landline phone working and that is an extension line in my home office on the first floor where all my computing equipment is located.
The landline phone downstairs has no dial tone nor does it ring on incoming calls. Because it is what I presume is the "Base" phone, while not actively useable, the network goes down if it is unpluuged.
My previous Gateway was a TelstraTechnicolor ADSL one and I had no trouble with any of the phones.
There is no mention of this problem in anything I've been able to find thus far. And certainly there was no warning that it was likely to be a problem in any notification that I received prior to the changover to NBN. Similarly there was no suggestion that any additional special additional equipment might be required.
I would be grateful for suggestions as to who to contact to resolve the issue and. given the absence of any warning, would not expect to have to pay for any additional equipment or installation that resoving the problem might need.
