All the information about NBN from Telstra shows a separate power supply box, with back-up battery, as well as the connection box. After installation of the connection box powered directly from the mains I contacted Telstra and was informed the power supply box is only available where an alarm system, medical alert or someone with a life threatening condition require 24/7 service. There appears to be no warning of this on the website and it was not mentioned when I signed up. I am now informed that when there is a power cut I will not only lose my internet but my 'phone service as well. Why are we not being offered the option of a separate power supply?
