Hi team,
I migrated from Bigpond Cable Broadband to Telstra NBN yesterday. During the last four yeears, the Netgear Wireless Cable Modem/Router which was provided by Telstra has been set up as a pass-through and got wifi disabled, so I can use my own Cisco Meraki Wireless Access Point and to provide wifi at home.
After I set up the Telstra Gateway Max 2 box by following the installation guide, I plugged my laptop to the LAN port 1 on the modem via Ethernet cable and made sure that Internet is available from the NBN box, I went into the configuration page (10.0.0.138) and turned on the "bridge mode". After the Telstar Gateaway Max 2 modem applied the change, Internet access went offline straigtaway. There is a Internet staus icon on the 10.0.0138 page indicating it is offline. The front LED light of WAN connection changed from green to white. I rebooted the modem and it is still offline. Once I turn off the bridge mode, the internet service was restored straightaway. The front LED light of WAN changed from white to green.
Just wondering whether the Telstra Gateway Max 2 box accutally support bridge mode at all? even this feature can be enabled easily on the configuration portal (10.0.0.138). I googled this issue onlilne and found some Bigpond ADSL2+ users which has got the same modem are using bridge mode successfully. Or maybe it is not available for NBN user.
Thanks heaps in advance,
Eric
