NBN and new contract

I have had two lots of emails from Telstra telling me my new contract and connection are ready to go and all's well. The first time I connected my Gateway and got nothing, then Telstra told me the NBN connection hadn't happened and the contract was cancelled. The Telstra operative called the NBN operative who said the connection wasn't made yet and they'd tell me when it was. Heard nothing. Now have a second lot of emails from Telstra saying it's all good to go. Searching progress of my order shows up "In progress". Of course, there's no number to call from overseas. And the 24/7 chat service seems to be closed.

Is there anybody out there?
