All was going well to get connected until . . . failed the Fixed Wireless Signal Test by -2Db. Trees in the way.
Were given the option of pruning trees and then reschedule an installation. But within 24 hours of the test fail (which could also have been down to weather on the day, test equipment variations, etc) the NBN had reclassified our address to Satellite Only.
Currently using Mobile Broadban 4G, no problems but it costs $95 / month for 15Gb. Fixed Braodband would by $95 / month for 500 Gb. Satellite (if I take up the option) will be $399 / month for 10 Gb + $2490 installation.
C'mon Telstra - you do the maths!!
ps what's the strength of the gossip that NBN will change (lower) the Benchmark for Fixed Wireless Signal Strength by the end of the year??
