Hi
NBN is coming to my area in next few weeks, we will be getting FTTN. I have 2 questions in relation to this and see there have already been some answers provided on this site, however there are some different views on this and I want to get a definitive answer to these questions.
I will order the L or XL bundle which comes with a Telstra Air® compatible Gateway.
Questions:
Bridging
1. Can I put the Telstra Air compatible Gateway in bridge mode?
I have read this can be done but then I have also read that the firmware is crippled and you cannot.
I understand that my phone will not work if its in bridge mode, that does not matter just need confirmation if bridging can be done.
2. If not can I purchase a different modem using the same chipset which can be put into bridge mode - Netcomm NF4V
Static IP
2. Currently I have a static IP with my ADSL2, can I have a static IP with FTTN?
Thanks in advance
Andrew
