For about 2 weeks now i have had latency spikes every 10 to 15 seconds witch only lasts for 1 to 2 seconds. Its now at a point that i cannot play any online games because of this. I have tried factory restalls and restarts with no avail. Anyone have any ideas?? I live in NE victoria

NBN installed yesterday, but two weeks before more than a 1mbp/s DL/UL speed?
I had, after months of contractors turning up and turning away, the NBN installed in my home on Wednesday.
Initially the speed wasn't all that bad, speed tests were picking up approx. 26mbp/s download speeds. But after a couple of hours it dropped to a ridiculously low 1-3mbp/s (at the moment tests are showing less than 1mbp/s) and that followed into the next day. Yesterday the issue persisted until approximately 7pm, when speed tests showed it jumped (for no apparent reason) to about 19mbp/s at download. I went out shortly after, came back around 9:30 and it was back to 2-3mbp/s.
I called a lovely lady from Telstra who went through my system from her end and her conclusion was that they can see the connection speed is (pitifully) slow but that I should see an improvement on bandwidth by the 25th of this month -- two weeks from now.
Is this a normal part of Telstra's service, where the internet is cut off for a week before the NBN is connected only for it to be replaced by a substantially slower connection speed than the previous ADSL connection? Why would Telstra spruik its NBN service to my household if the result of buying into the service would be a (and it can't be disputed based on the numbers) inferior connection?
I've faith the lady on the telephone did as well as she could, but perhaps somebody can give me something more to make me a little more confident in Telstra's NBN service.
I've not gone over my limit, my WIFI connection is full-bars and the same speed test results are had on more than one computer and on smartphones on the network.

Is my Cable Telstra Gateway Max modem ready for NBN ?
Hi, I'm currently on Telstra's cable broadband (bundled with home phone) and will have to switch to the NBN network soon. I am using Telstra's Gateway Max (in bridged mode) connected to a Netgear R7000 router. Are therse two devices compatible with Telstra's NBN bundles OR would I need to get additional hardware?
Also, would it be possible to do the switch over to NBN via crowdsupport here?

NBN performance not what I expected
Hi,
I have had my Telstra NBN FTTN for 3 weeks purchased with a speed boost pack to 100/40. I use the supplied Telstra Gateway Max 2.
The peak performance I am getting in non peak times is ~15Mb/s download, and ~4Mb/s in peak hours. The performance is the same on 2.4Ghz or 5.0Ghz wifi, and if connected via ethernet cables.
Example below ran a few minutes ago.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

How to upgrade NBN bandwidth
I currently have a Fibre to the Premises connection with telstra broadband that has 25mbps download and 5mbps upload and i was wondering how i could upgrade to a 100mbps/40mbps speed connection without changing anything else on the plan.

NBN Speed Drops in peak times
Tesltra,
Why does my NBN speed drop considerably at 4pm everyday. I am on the top tier speed, 100/40 plan, 200m from the node and synch at 109nbps down and 40mbps up. My max attainable synch speed is 115mb down.
Dueing the day, the internet flies, speedtest.net results appear consistent in the high 80's to mid 90's with a 9 - 13ms ping which is fantastic. It was like that for two weeks plus until Tuesday on this week where between 4pm and 5pm, the speed DROPS to 1-6mbps down and up to 255ms ping this is ridiculous.
I called tech support, they told me to change the WiFi Channel the router was one, WiFi is disabled, there are no WiFi devices connected to the router, only pne PC connected directly via CAT6E
I have setup an automatic test to Speedtest.net every hour to represent the data over a 24hr period.
As you can see, the speeds are sporadic and no consistent.
Why is this Telstra? Your tech support say it isnt congestions, but why else would it drop, only in peak periods?

Early jun this year i have received a flyer in my letterbox stating nbn arrived in sandstone point[qld] if you join by end of the month you get a bundle for 95.00 $ a month. i went to BRIBIE IS. and signed up. now the last 3 months i receiving bills for 99.0$ + 13 numbers charge. Telstra say they never had a 95.00 $ promotion. My question is did anybody remember getting a 95.00$ bundle offer or not. Telstra say they got no record of me signing a 95.00$ contract.

NBN from Telstra
I don't know how Telstra expects to grow its business when it cant even process a sales order. I thought I ordered NBN 3 weeks ago only to be told when I called them today to chase it up that they had not processed the order!! They even had difficulty retrieving it on their internal systems. After being on the phone for 40 minutes they inform me that Im expected to wait another 3 weeks. What a hopeless organisation. As a long term customer, I am very dissapointed and will now look at using their competition.

Mine reads VDSL2.

NBN Ping Issues
My NBN is having a few issues. For one my internet it pinging from Darwin and often Papua New Guinnea. The speeds are fine yet i am getting 200+ ping. As someone who plays games a hell of a lot, this is impossible. Any ideas on a fix? This has only been going on in the last month, if i try selecting the Adelaide server on speedtest the ping is fine but all games and speedtests that automatically find servers point me to Darwin when i live in Adelaide.

When the NBN eventually decides to come to my suburb, I was thinking about paying the extra for a FTTP connection and I was just wondering if Telstra have any plans for FTTP connections or would I be stuck with the max of 100/40 that is the limit for FTTN.

NBN fixed wireless
Good day. I moved from ADSL2 to NBN fixed wireless when that technology recently became available in a remote & rural location where I live. I am happy with the service. I am consistently getting 23-24 Mbps download (about twice what I was getting with ADSL2) and 4 Mbps upload (about 4 times what I was getting with ADSL2).
NBN has advertised (yesterday in The West Australian) that there is a choice of speeds across its network (NBN25, NBN50 and NBN 100). It does not mention any exceptions.
Is Telstra NBN offering this choice of speeds in the service I am receiving (hlu60481@bigpond.net.au)?

Slow NBN Speeds
I am currently paying for the NBN speed boost 100 mbps DL but the highest speed i can get is around 23 mbps, is this normal? or should i be getting a lot more? i've tested the speeds using an ethernet cable, i have also brought the Telstra gateway max 2 and have been having problems with it, maybe faulty? slow speeds, dropouts, trouble connecting to some online games, which never happened before i brought the gateway max 2. Sppeds have been exactly the same on my new and old modem.
